Jewelry Care
Each piece from Shannon Michele Jewelry is designed and handcrafted to be worn often and kept for years to come. With thoughtful care, your fine jewelry will maintain its beauty, structure, and character over time.
Cleaning
To keep your jewelry looking its best, occasional gentle cleaning is recommended.
- Clean using warm water, mild soap, and a soft cloth. A soft toothbrush can be used for hard to reach areas.
- Rinse thoroughly and dry with a clean, lint-free cloth
- Avoid harsh cleaners and abrasives that could damage the surface of the metal
When to Remove Your Jewelry
Your jewelry is designed for everyday life, with a few moments best reserved for removal:
- During heavy lifting, manual labor, or high impact activities
- When swimming or bathing, particularly in salt water, chlorinated pools or hot tubs, hot springs, etc.
- While using household or industrial cleaning products
Removing your jewelry during these moments helps prevent accidental damage to both metal and stones.
Jewelry Handling Tips
Fine jewelry is made to last, but thoughtful wear supports longevity.
- Apply lotions, perfumes, hair products, and cosmetics first before wearing your jewelry
- Avoid repeated contact with hard surfaces
- Remove jewelry before activities that place unnecessary stress on the piece
Subtle signs of wear are natural and reflect the life of a well loved piece of jewelry.
Jewelry Storage
Proper storage helps protect your jewelry when not being worn.
- Store pieces in a soft pouch or lined jewelry box (you can use the ones that come with your order)
- Keep your jewelry separated to prevent scratching amongst other pieces
- Avoid prolonged exposure to humidity to prevent potential tarnishing
